☀️ Silver Online Service (SOS)

Theme: Support for Vulnerable Groups

Problem Statement

Amidst rapid advancements in technology, many seniors struggle to keep up and become digital immigrants. Many seniors fail to utilize the full potential of digital solutions for many modern-day lifestyles and feel isolated from society. How can we promote active aging by improving technological literacy among seniors?

Project Description

Silver Online Service (SOS) app is a mobile application designed for seniors to seek convenient, personalized and on-demand help from the community in their smartphone usage. With an intuitive call function that utilizes video call, screen sharing and annotations features, helpers can easily guide the seniors on their smartphone navigation needs.

Seniors may make calls to their close relatives and friends or tap on a community of registered volunteers to support and assist them. With this, Seniors can adopt better smartphone usage and better access to digital services that enables them to age actively.

Key Features

  • Video Call Support: Connect with helpers via intuitive video calling
  • Screen Sharing: Helpers can see and guide through smartphone screens
  • Annotations: Visual guidance with on-screen annotations
  • Community Network: Access to registered volunteers and family members
  • User-Friendly Interface: Designed specifically for seniors
  • Active Aging: Promotes digital inclusion and independence

Impact

This project aims to bridge the digital divide for seniors by providing them with accessible, personalized support. By enabling seniors to better utilize digital services, SOS promotes active aging and helps seniors stay connected with their communities and loved ones.
